IOWA REGION VOLLEYBALL

TRYOUT AND COMMITMENT DATES FOR THE 2025-26 SEASON

Here are some updates and information you will need before you tryout or commit to a club.

All Information can be found on our website at:  www.iowavbregion.org

The OCS will be open for commitments to be sent out starting July 5th for ALL AGES.  No commitments may be given out before that time.

There will be two deadlines during the Summer Tryout Period. The first deadline will be 11:59pm on the Wednesday before the Iowa High School Activities Federation Non-Contact Period, at which time all offers will expire. Clubs may send new offers and the next deadline will be 11:59pm the day before Iowa Girls High School practice begins.

Once the offer is made, the club must hold that position available for the player, until the
above deadlines.

The age definitions for next season will be released in mid-June. Players participating in National or Regional Qualifying events CANNOT be waivered to a different age level unless they fit under the USAV exceptions.  Please make sure and verify the proper age level for your athlete BEFORE tryouts.

Commitment Dates (Clubs cannot force you to commit before these deadlines once the offer has been extended:

  • Summer Commitment Dates (All offers will expire after this deadline): July 23rd and August 10th, 2025,11:59pm
  • Fall Commitment Dates (All offers will expire after these deadlines):
  • 14U and Younger Age Groups – November 4th, 11:59pm
  • 15U and Older Age Groups - November 11th, 11:59pm
  • The ONLY offers recognized by the region are through the Online Commitment System. If a club extends an offer, make sure that they send it through the OCS. This is to protect both the player and the club. If your player did not have a USA Volleyball membership in the 2024-25 Season, parents will need to put their players information into the OCS.

Players must have a membership before they can participate in any USA Volleyball tryouts. Memberships will not expire until August 31st. If you are a current 24-25 member you will not need a tryout membership.

What is a commitment?  Once you sign a commitment to a club your player is not allowed to play for another club for the duration of the season.  If you commit to a club during the summer tryout season, you are not allowed to attend tryouts for another club during the fall tryout season.  If a club gives you a verbal offer, they should also send an offer through the online commitment system. They cannot force a player to commit before the established deadlines.

Tryout Policies

What is the OCS or Online Commitment System?  This is a system the region uses that is separate from the membership system. The clubs use this system to send out their commitment letters and policies.  Every player that had a 23-24 membership is already in the system.  This is NOT the membership system that USA Volleyball uses for membership, rosters, etc.   It is a good idea to test the system to make sure your email address isn’t filtering out the email from the system.  To check your email address please click on this link: https://iavb.vstarvolleyball.com/ocs/index.php

Where do I sign up for membership?  If you need a tryout membership, please go to our website at www.iowavbregion.org to purchase.  A tryout membership is only good for tryouts and is upgradable to a full membership.  If you are a current member of the 23-24 season the membership is good until August 31st, you do not need to purchase a tryout membership for the summer tryout season.  Tryout memberships will be available starting June 15th.

Once committed to a club, after September 1st and the club is ready for their 25-26 season, the club will send a link to purchase or upgrade your player’s membership. This link will also attach your player to the club in the membership system.  It is important that you do not purchase a full membership until after you receive this link from the club.  This is a separate process from the Online Commitment System.

Thank you and good luck in your upcoming seasons.
